AFAMUR has two premises where the 2 therapeutic day centres and workshops can be found, both dedicated to the attention of people with dementia in the initial phase and also in the moderate-advanced phase.
Centre I: Initial-moderate phase, Address Paseo Ramón Gaya, Nº 6, Murcia
Centre II: Moderate-severe phase, address Plaza Valladolid, Nº 2, Murcia
The day centers’ timetables are from 09.30 to 17.30 from Monday to Friday inclusive.
The timetable for the workshops isfrom 10.00 to 13.00 from Monday to Friday and in the afternoons from 16.00 to 18.00.
The therapies which are applied are as follows:
Cognitive stimulation therapy
This consists of a combination of group and/or individual activities adjusted to the degree of cognitive loss and the behavioral typology of the sufferer. With this therapy Orientation towards reality is worked upon, Reminiscence and Memory, Language, Attention and Concentration, Thought, gnosis and praxis.
Physical exercise and psycho-mobility in groups
These physiotherapeutic programmes basically try to slow down and relieve the changes in the physical capacity of Alzheimer sufferers while at the same time encourage their personal autonomy.
In the day center is performed:
- Workshop of physical exercise and group psychomotricity
- Individual physiotherapy is also used.
Stimulation Therapy through art
Through these therapies we try to slow down as far as possible the degeneration of the cognitive and behavioral abilities through fun and enjoyable activities, using laughter therapy, imagination, memory, thoughts, music, theatre, art therapy and the active participation of all the users of the Centres.
